Where steel is produced and processed, it's noisy and hot. Only in the control room is there a pleasant atmosphere despite complex functions and responsible tasks. This is made possible by the room concept that BUSSE designed for SMS Siemag, the specialist for metallurgical and rolling mill technology.
SMS Siemag AG in Düsseldorf supplies metallurgical and rolling mill technology worldwide for the steel, aluminum and non-ferrous metal industries. Within the SMS Holding GmbH group, 11,000 employees generate annual sales of three billion euros.
Employees control all functions of a steel mill or rolling mill from a central control room. BUSSE has developed a completely new room design, ergonomic furniture and a situation-dependent lighting concept for this purpose.
The concept divides the 30 to 40 m² room into a zone with a control station, a communication area with a conference table as a new element, and a recreation area with a checkroom, lockers and kitchen. Designed as a modular system, the room concept can be transferred to different floor plans. The furnishing of the individual areas is also variable.
Perfectly coordinated with the corporate design of SMS Siemag, the control room appears aesthetically high-quality and clearly arranged. BUSSE thus brings an atmosphere of well-being to the rather rough world of steel and rolling mills.
